Westgate House in Ealing is set to become a new landmark for luxury living in West London at an affordable entry level, perfect for both first-time buyers and Buy-to-Let investors. Our Solution
O’Shea acquired this 8-storey office block in Ealing for conversion under permitted development rights. The new scheme will provide over 311 apartments with the addition of three new build storeys. It's these three new build storeys where we were employed to provide new fire tested PPC Aluminium Rainscreen Cladding.
This is where our testing regime came to the fore and it is Everform Consulting who were finally selected to provide both our discreet fix rainscreen PPC aluminium system to the HA block and then requested to incorporate a 75mm vertical folded mullion effect to our rainscreen PPC Aluminium System to the additional three floors of the Westgate House Extension. Our works covered both the external façade and the internal atrium. The finished result belies the complex geometry involved with the façade finish moving seamlessly from the external face through into the recessed balcony walls and soffits.
Everform Consulting's full-scale fire test, reaction to Fire test and our CWCT weather-tightness performance tests were fundamental to our appointment on this project.
Project Insight
An interesting feature of this project is that all of the apartments are positioned around a very impressive, seven-storey atrium where we installed our Discreet fix rainscreen system. O’Shea are working as the design & build contractor and are developing the scheme in conjunction with Galliard Homes.
